Meet Alex
Alex Garcia is a proud son of Kern County, with extensive experience in countywide and regional leadership positions. After graduating from Wasco High School in 2007, where he actively participated in the FFA program, Alex pursued higher education at Fresno State before returning to his roots. Since 2016, he has been serving on the Wasco City Council, demonstrating a strong focus on local infrastructure and public safety.
Alex has also contributed significantly to Kern County's progress in various capacities, including serving on the board of the Kern Health Systems and the Kern Economic Development Corporation. As a dedicated REALTOR®, he is committed to making homeownership accessible and creating pathways to the middle class for all residents of Kern County. Alex Garcia is well-prepared to bring his proven local leadership in rural communities and passion for a better Kern County to serve and empower all of its residents.
Proven Leadership for Kern County
Since 2016, Alex has been serving on the Wasco City Council, where he led the effort to tackle COVID-19 in our neighborhoods, stood up to the state & helped secure a historic $25 million investment of transportation dollars, and voted to re-establish Wasco’s own Police Department.

Alex has also represented rural Kern families in various capacities, including serving on the boards of Kern Health Systems, the Kern Economic Development Corporation, and Kern Council of Governments. Notably, he is also a distinguished graduate of the Kern Leaders Academy, where he honed his skills in local leadership and collaborating with leaders across the spectrum. In every capacity of public service, Alex has demonstrated a commitment to serving Kern families first.
